7A Cafe, located on the lower east side at 7th Street and Ave. A is a hip restaurant with good atmosphere, great food and conscientious staff- even on a busy Saturday night, you might still get seated right away. The seating is a bit cramped, but still group-friendly, and has outdoor tables when the weather permits. The bar is on the far left side and welcomes patrons to sit a spell on the stools while enjoying cocktails. Two swinging doors lead into a very small powder room with two enclosed stalls for men and women to share.

Most excellently, it's open 24hrs! So whether you are there for breakfast or a late night binge, 7A Cafe is always willing to serve you. The menu is simple and to the point: they dish up salads, omelets, burgers & sandwiches, which are no joke. All portions are large and very satisfying.
Smaller but just as satisfying are the prices- two great pasta dishes and appetizers cost about $30.00. For all you health nuts out there, 7A offers plenty of health-conscious dining choices. Granola and vegetables can be substituted in all entrees, so you don't have to be tempted to have the fries.

Although I haven't had the pleasure of taking part, the main draw of this cafe is breakfast. On weekdays, breakfast runs late into the day, and on weekends, breakfast becomes brunch. Brunch includes complimentary Bloody Marys and Mimosas for your hangover relief, and a great selection of traditional breakfast chow.

There are some mixed opinions about the service at this hipster hangout, though when I dined there with a friend, our waiter was friendly and apologetic when he forgot our appetizer. (We forgave him because it was a busy Saturday night). Despite the one mishap, our waiter never let our drinks become totally empty before offering to get us another, and he didn't give us a hard time when we wanted to chill out and have drinks after our meal. Compared to other places in the village where you have to deal with an angry wait staff and pretentious patrons, the atmosphere was very relaxed. The dim lighting and close-knit cafe tables made for a very casual dining experience. I would definitely visit 7A Cafe again, and next time I want to hit up the critically acclaimed brunch.
